I'm looking forward to starting something new, and GW2 is so far in the future that I just know I'll be completely sick of my characters by then, especially since GWEN won't be giving me any new ones to keep me occupied for the next two years.

There doesn't need to be an 'end' to the characters, because the servers won't be going anywhere. You will always have access to your old characters just by logging in to the old game, so there is no need to kill them off, until the time where there simply aren't enough players to keep them open. By the time that happens however people will already be so sick of the game that they wouldnt' notice if Anet did some huge event to close it off anyway.

Everything will just peter out in time. A 'death' would simply be lost in the excitement of the release of GW2.

If it had not been an online game I would have seen the point in being able to import your char but as this is an online game it's not fair to be able to do that.

If people are going emo over losing their e-peens I can only say it's pretty sad.
Lol you like most people have not read what’s going on in the thread, and are ether nuking it or just well not reading. It's basically like a writing assignment. You write your "toons" death scene its not referring to the "end of the game" as some people are seeing it or ohh boo who I can't transfer my characters as your seeing it. Please read people don't scan.

I see Fable Sprit living to be old after the long battles and possibly a large war he fights in beside the norns learning their battle tactics. He is fed up with war and death and longs to be a peaceful monk again. He travels back to his homeland and takes up his duties in the temple. After 50 years of peace a stranger comes to him in the temple and he has an emotional conversation it turns out he killed that mans father and on a death oath the man swore to kill fable for his wrongs. Fable asks his forgiveness and surrenders his life to the man. In a twist the man forgives Fable under one condition he teaches him all his knowledge and passes all he owns to him and explains that his father was in fact Fable before he came back from the mist the first time as a warrior for justices. (yes I know I suck at writing but you get the basic idea) and I don't think there going to put in a cut scene that is what the thread creator is looking for basicly

Alright, not sure if anyone else has said what I am about to, because I can't be bothered reading five pages.

I don't think that our characters will come to an end at the end of GWEN. For a start, if they died permanently, then I think a lot of people would lose interest in GW by the time GW2 comes out. Now, as for that thing about the character officially dying in a storyline context but being able to continue to play... Well, I'd hate that. My character is dead. What reason would there be for her to keep running around, doing quests and gathering titles. I like roleplaying when I play GW, or at least to some extent. And it just wouldn't work.

I think they've already explained what kills our characters. Time. That's all it is. They grow old and die, and their children live on and have children of their own, and eventually our GW2 characters are born (and it'll be very clear to some of us that at some point, somewhere in our character's family tree, there has been some cross breeding).

So no, I don't think that our characters will die at the end. In fact, unless my character has been having sex behind my back, she can't die at the end of GWEN, otherwise there'll be no line to continue on in GW2.
